About Us
Lex is a record label, music publisher, and film production company based in London. The company was founded by Tom Brown and was initially an imprint of Warp.
Lex began by putting out 12″ vinyl records in 2001 and released its first album late in 2002. Lex releases music by artists including BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah, Boom Bip, Danger Mouse, Eyedress, GILA, Golden Rules, Kaleida, Kate Tempest, Haleek Maul, Andrew Hung, DOOM, Neon Neon, Malphino, MIKE and Prefuse 73.
Lex produced its first short film in 2011 and began a music publishing operation in 2012. Lex Films has produced several live-action short films written by Alan Moore and directed by Mitch Jenkins and produced its first feature film, The Show.
Lex Music Publishing is administered by Downtown in New York and publishes songs by Alan Moore, Becoming Real Eyedress, GILA, Haleek Maul, Jneiro Jarel, MF DOOM and Prefuse 73.
